COVID-19 Information & Patient Guidance
Your health and safety remain our top priority. Below you’ll find our current recommendations, testing and treatment guidance, and information on when to seek care if you suspect you have COVID-19.
COVID-19 Vaccines
- Pomona Valley Health Center does not provide COVID-19 vaccines in our Primary Care or Urgent Care Centers.
- We recommend checking with your local pharmacy, as most pharmacies offer the updated vaccine.
- Physicians do not typically write prescriptions for this vaccine.
Tip: You can visit Vaccines.gov to find a COVID-19 vaccine location near you.
If You Suspect You Have COVID-19
If you develop symptoms or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19:
- Take a home test as soon as possible.
- If your test is positive, you may call your Primary Care Provider (PCP) for advice on next steps.
- If you are in a high-risk group, you may be eligible for antiviral treatment such as Paxlovid.
- You may also visit one of our Urgent Care Centers for evaluation and to determine if treatment is needed.
Note: Patients should not visit our offices without first contacting their provider if they have symptoms or a positive test.
Common Symptoms
COVID-19 symptoms can range from mild to severe. Watch for:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue or body aches
- Loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat, congestion, or runny nose
- Headache, nausea, or diarrhea
When to Seek Emergency Care
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department if you experience:
- Trouble breathing
- Persistent chest pain or pressure
- New confusion or difficulty staying awake
- Bluish lips or face
Who Is at Higher Risk
Certain groups are more likely to experience severe illness, including:
- Adults 65 and older
- People with chronic medical conditions (heart, lung, kidney, or immune disorders)
- Those who are pregnant
- Individuals who are unvaccinated or under-vaccinated
Staying Healthy
Protect yourself and others by continuing simple preventive steps:
- Stay up to date on recommended vaccines (flu, COVID-19, etc.)
- Wash hands frequently
- Stay home when feeling sick
- Wear a mask in crowded or high-risk settings
