Whether you’re a pro or semi-pro athlete, a college or high-school athlete, or a weekend warrior, PVHC’s sports medicine practitioners offer you the specialized care you need to recover quickly and get back in the game — or keep injuries away in the first place!
No matter what type of muscle or skeletal pain you’re dealing with — nagging, chronic, sharp or otherwise –– we have the treatment options to help you. Our sports medicine doctors, led by sports medicine director Hanh Larson, DO, specialize in the nonsurgical orthopedic treatment and rehabilitation of people of all genders, ages and abilities.
Experienced doctors dedicated to getting you back into the game
Our depth of experience treating athletes of all types means that we thoroughly understand the toll sports take on the body. Damage often begins accumulating before you realize it, especially with overuse injuries like tendonitis. You may only notice a small twinge one day and think nothing of it. But repetitive stress can exaggerate that twinge to a full-blown issue, where treatment often takes much longer than if the problem had been addressed immediately. We’ve seen our athlete-oriented techniques bring incredible results, so it’s important that you seek treatment for even the smallest injury before it gets worse.
You want to be back up and competing as fast as possible, and surgery often means long recovery times. That’s why our sports-med doctors take a nonsurgical approach using a variety of effective, noninvasive treatment techniques, imaging modalities and rehabilitation protocols to get you out of pain and achieve your performance goals—quickly!

PVHC’s sports medicine specialists empower you to avoid injury
Of course, the best way to deal with an injury or condition is to avoid it in the first place. If you are considering starting a new sport or exercise program, it’s important you consult our physicians about any concerns you have. We will evaluate the current state of your health and warn you about any difficulties you may encounter due to conditions like asthma, poor flexibility or prior injuries. While exercise should be a part of almost everybody’s plan for health and longevity, it’s important to give yourself the best chance of success — and that means avoiding injuries that could have been prevented.
