How Does Telehealth Work?

Telehealth lets you see a PVHC doctor remotely using video calls or messaging. Here's how it works:

1. Book a ​​telemedicine appointment online or by calling your healthcare provider.
2. At the time of your appointment, log in to a secure platform for your virtual visit.
3. Talk to your PVHC provider about your health concerns, just like an in-person visit.
4. The doctor might diagnose, prescribe meds, or suggest tests or lifestyle changes.
5. Get any needed prescriptions or follow-up appointments.

Online doctor visits are great for routine check-ups, minor illnesses, and mental health support. They’re convenient, especially if you're far from a clinic or have mobility issues. Just know that some exams or treatments still need in-person visits. 

Telehealth services add flexibility to healthcare, making it more accessible to many patients. 

Is Urgent Care Telehealth Available? 

Yes, you can get urgent care through telehealth. This means you can talk to a PVHC healthcare provider about your urgent medical needs using your phone or computer without going to a clinic in person. It's a convenient way to get help quickly when you need it.

A virtual urgent care visit can assist with various urgent medical needs, including:

• Allergies
• COVID-19 symptoms or exposure
• Minor insect bites
• Pink eye
• Rash/poison ivy non-genital
• Urinary symptoms
• Advising whether additional in-person care is necessary and providing referrals if needed.
