PVHC offers a full range of current and pre-placement health screenings as part of our Employer Advantage occupational medicine program. Each screening is conducted by our experienced staff and overseen by a board-certified physician.

What are Employee Health Screenings?

Employee health screenings refer to various medical assessments and examinations conducted by employers to evaluate the health status of their current and potential employees.

These screenings vary widely depending on the employer's policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The primary objectives of employee health screenings include:

  • Promoting Wellness
  • Identifying Health Risks
  • Compliance with Regulations

Common types of employee health screenings may include:

  • Physical Examinations: These may consist of measurements of vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and body mass index (BMI), as well as assessments of overall physical health.
  • Blood Tests: Blood screenings can assess various health markers such as cholesterol levels, blood glucose levels (for diabetes screening), liver function, kidney function, and indicators of inflammation.
  • Biometric Screenings: These screenings may involve measurements of biometric indicators such as waist circumference, body fat percentage, and sometimes even genetic predispositions to certain health conditions.
  • Health Risk Assessments (HRAs): HRAs typically involve questionnaires or surveys to gather information about an employee's lifestyle habits, medical history, and family history of diseases. This information helps identify potential health risks and guide preventive measures.
  • Vision and Hearing Tests: Depending on the nature of the work, employers may conduct vision and hearing screenings to ensure employees have adequate sensory capabilities for their job roles.

The Benefits of an Employee Health Check

Employee health checks support optimal health and wellness for your workforce. They help to lessen chronic medical conditions, increase overall health and worker productivity, and lower healthcare costs.

Hiring employees involves a bit of risk; knowing if a new hire fits the job can be challenging.

Pomona Valley Health Centers can help your company save time and money by providing comprehensive staff health screenings and complete physical evaluations of potential new hires.

A pre-employment health screening can be a valuable method for employers to evaluate a prospective employee’s medical fitness and physical ability to perform the job’s essential functions without putting themselves or other associates at risk.

Since 1984, PVHC has been a leading occupational medicine provider, providing exams for employee health screening companies, including:

  • DMV and DOT Physicals
  • Breath Alcohol Testing
  • Lift Testing
  • Back Health Assessments
  • Audiograms
  • Pulmonary Function Testing
  • And more.
