How do I know if physical therapy is right for me?

If you’re struggling with chronic pain, recovering from an injury, struggling with mobility or balance, or looking to boost your athletic performance, physical therapy can be a good option.

If you’re unsure, talk to your primary care doctor or specialist. They can help guide you in the right direction.

How long does each physical therapy session last?

The length of physical therapy treatments can vary depending on the severity of your condition, how consistent you are with your care, and your rate of healing. However, 45 to 60 minutes is typical.

How many physical therapy sessions will I need?

The number of physical therapy treatments you’ll need depends on the severity of your condition, how consistent you are with your care, and your insurance coverage.

On average, most patients attend the PVHC physical therapy clinics for 10 to 12 sessions, which are typically scheduled 2 to 3 times per week.  Your physical therapist will assess your needs and create a personalized plan that meets your care needs.

What should I wear to my physical therapy appointment?

It’s best to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely during your session. Opt for comfortable, closed-toe shoes (e.g., sneakers) with socks.
